About James Allen Haskiell
For more than 35 years, James Allen Haskiell worked as a self-employed building contractor based in Hagerstown, Maryland. He completed construction projects across Maryland and the two neighboring states, Virginia and West Virginia. Complementing his contracting business, James Allen Haskiell purchased numerous homes in need of restoration. After rehabilitating the properties, he capitalized on his investment by selling or renting them.
Since retiring, Mr. Haskiell and his wife have joined Lake Region Village, a resident-owned adult community in Haines City, Florida. He serves as president of the Lake Region Village Boat Club and also participates in the Social Club. In nearby Winter Haven, he belongs to the congregation of St. John’s United Methodist Church, where he assists with a monthly breakfast service. He has also taken mission trips with his church to several Central American countries and utilized his background in construction and carpentry to help build churches in Costa Rica and Guatemala.
In his leisure time, James Haskiell enjoys searching flea markets and auctions for antiques or furniture that he can restore. Still involved in his home region in and around Maryland, he attends several Baltimore Orioles games each season and serves as president of the Band Boosters in Virginia.
